McHugh Furniture Company hanging cabinet in original green finish with motto.

Unusual and rare McHugh Furniture Company hanging cabinet with adjustable shelves in original green stain with the motto: "Now Look Pleasant" in red & white paint. While most of the major Arts & Crafts furniture companies, including Gustav Stickley, L.& J.G. Stickley, Stickley Bros. & Charles Limbert produced a few pieces in green stain, examples are quite uncommon. The cabinet originally contained purple leaded glass in the door which is now missing. We have not replaced the glass, but can install the material of choice of the buyer, including slag glass in various colors & textures or clear wavy antique glass. The cabinet is otherwise in very good condition with only a few lightened areas as shown in the images. Branded on the reverse with the companies shopmark: "The McHugh (Mission) Furniture, Made in New York, above the image of a dove with the word PAX ( Latin for peace ) below. It's interesting that the word "Mission" is in parenthesis. An interesting form with multiple uses as a display cabinet, storage or bathroom cabinet.
